Lower back pain is becoming a common ailment these days, and this can be attributed to lack of activity, poor posture and sitting for long periods.
We are working in partnership with our clients to prevent long-term injuries using a myriad of wellbeing initiatives. We know that it is vital to equip the individual with knowledge and raise awareness.
It is, ultimately, the individual’s responsibility and why wouldn’t you want to take control of your own wellbeing?
Back pain can be debilitating, and you usually get some warning signs – so now may be the time to act.
There was a time when everyone was talking about their step count for the day. Although it’s very important to get moving, it is also important to prepare yourself for movement, whatever the intensity.
Whenever anyone comes in for a treatment the therapist will always make an assessment and highlight what areas of the spine may be tight and need some treatment. Movement is good and when you move you may get some symptoms such as a dull ache or a sharp pain… please pay attention and do something about it.

4 Easy Stretches For Lower Back Pain
Back Flexion Stretch
- Lie on your back.

Kneeling Lunge Stretch

- Repeat on the opposite leg.
Knee to Chest Stretch
- Lie on your back.
- Gently pull the knees to the chest with both hands until a comfortable stretch is felt in the mid and lower back.
- Slowly return to the starting position.
- Aim to complete 4 to 6 repetitions of this exercise.
Piriformis Stretch
- Lie on your back with knees bent and heels on the floor.
- Cross one leg over the other, resting the ankle on the bent knee.
- Gently pull your knee toward the chest until a stretch is felt in the buttock.
- Hold the stretch for a few seconds and repeat with the other leg.
- Aim to complete 5 to 10 repetitions of this exercise for each side.
Less is more when you are doing these stretches. It is better to do them more often than to push too far. Listen to your body and take control of your wellbeing by looking after your spine. If you had one car for the whole of your life we’re sure you would look after it?
