INDOOR OFFICE EXERCISE

Incorporating exercises into your office routine can help counteract the sedentary nature of desk work and promote overall health.

Exercise counteracts the negative effects of prolonged sitting, reducing the risk of musculoskeletal issues and enhancing overall posture.

Physical activity stimulates blood circulation, preventing stiffness and discomfort associated with sedentary behaviour.

Regular exercise has profound effects on mental wellbeing. It reduces stress by promoting the release of endorphins, improving mood and cognitive function. For office workers who spend extended hours in front of screens, physical activity can alleviate eye strain and combat mental fatigue.

In the long term, consistent physical activity contributes to weight management and reduces the risk of chronic conditions such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. It also enhances metabolic function, potentially mitigating the adverse effects of a sedentary lifestyle.

During the winter months, it can often be difficult to find the motivation to participate in exercise. This can be due to the poor weather. Here, season depressive disorder may also play a role.

Here are our top five office-based exercises.

  5. Repeat for 10-15 repetitions, 3 times a day.
